Many PE tools also can't load Upack.
It's bugs of those tools certainly,
because all versions of Windows don't have this bug.
Maybe because of the undefined PE format.
If you can, tell me which versions of Upack may run on Wine.
And hope you can report this bug to the author of Wine.

0.36 does not work under Wine. I have not tested other versions.
BTW, executables packer with NSPack 3.1, run fine.
Of course, I have reported it to Wine developers.

can confirm this.

The packer does very strange things with the MZ and PE header.

I sent a first patch to fix this, but it is still not working afterwards.

In fact, The head of Upack is not strange at all.
The main cause is that they are not enough clear about PE format,
but used to some common PE templates such as VC's and Delphi's.
In other word, Wine don't fully support PE format,
at least not as Microsoft Windows9x/Me/2k/xp's.

I agree dwing's point, Wine has bugs in PE format.
And Im alse see strange PE hearder frome Upack,and confused me some time.:)
