Audience awareness in writing - the consciousness of someone to communicate with while writing.
In creative writing, there is something called "the implied reader". A writer may well keep this concept in mind throughout the entire creative process, during which the writer is aware of the readers' needs and aesthetic expectations, which ultimately determines what and how he writes.
There are those who write for themselves and those who write for the readers. The latter knows what different audiences look for in their works, and thus varies their contents and styles accordingly.
不知道楼主有没有读过村上春树,he has long been accused of writing his Japanese in a way that is easily translatable into English - a great example of "the implied reader"
